Outgoing Singapore’s ambassador Promises to promote more tourists in their country to visit Cambodia after COVID-19

The Outgoing Singaporean Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E Michael Tan promised to help promote the spectacular scenery in Cambodia to tourists in Singapore to get them to know and visit Cambodia, especially at the end of the COVID-19 crisis.

H.E Ambassador made the remarks during a farewell visit to Tourism Minister Thong Khon on November 2nd , 2020 at the Ministry of Tourism .

H.E. Minister Thong Khon expressed his appreciation and high evaluation for the close cooperation in the field of tourism between Cambodia and Singapore during the mission of H.E. Michael Tan and expressed his deep gratitude for those efforts.

He continued to say that during his diplomatic mission in the KIngdom, Singapore has helped train Cambodia’s human resources by establishing the Cambodia-Singapore Cooperation Center, in which Cambodian government officials and students can attend the training.

At the same time, the Embassy of Singapore and the Ministry of Tourism also initiated the idea of ​​organizing a Street Art Festival in Phnom Penh, which showcased Cambodia’s tourism and food destinations.

H.E. Michael said that he traveled to many tourist destinations in Cambodia, such as Mondulkiri, Siem Reap-Angkor, coastal areas and ecotourism, was very interested in those tourist attractions.

H.E Minister Thong Khon asked the outgoing Ambassador of Singapore to help attract more investors to Cambodia, especially in the tourism sector.

The Ministry of Tourism also requested Singapore to support the training on Cambodian tourism skills in line with the ASEAN curriculum, which the Government of Singapore has supported in the past.
