H.E Ms. Men Sam An receives Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, H.E Ms. Men Sam An, received H.E. Mikami Masahiro, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia on October 6, 2020.
The Japanese Ambassador said that the Government of Japan is considering helping Cambodia to contribute to the economic development and livelihood of the Cambodian people, even though the two countries are facing the Covid-19 problem as other countries in the world.
The ambassador added that Japan is ready to assist Cambodia in the field of health, with a 25-billion-Yen grant aid to be signed in the near future.
The Royal Government of Japan is reviewing the reconnection of flights from Japan to Cambodia from Cambodia to Japan after being interrupted by Covid-19.
In reply, H.E Ms. Men Sam An, on behalf of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, considering Japan a good friend which always supported Cambodia by providing grants and concessional loans at a time when Cambodia needs assistance for rehabilitation and development.
The Minister added that in addition to economic, health and rehabilitation assistance, Japan is one of the countries that has helped to find peace, national unity and national reconciliation in Cambodia.
H.E Mr. Minister Men Sam An thanked the people and government of Japan for their assistance to Cambodia, as the two countries have good relation since January 19, 1953. H.E Ms. Men Sam An also called for the strengthening of cooperation between two institutions, especially in the field of inspection and prevention of corruption, through exchange visits and training.
H.E. Mikami Masahiro said he was impressend by Cambodia’s progress under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, who has transformed a country that has experienced war into a peaceful and prosperous country in all areas. In particular, maintaining stability, peace and security and development of Cambodia.
