Cambodia Reports No New COVID-19 Case for Four Days in a Row

AKP Phnom Penh, August 20, 2020 —

There is no new case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia for four days in a row, according to the Ministry of Health’s press release issued this morning.

The tally thus remains at 273, including 174 Cambodians, 40 French, 17 Chinese, 13 Malaysians, 8 Indonesians, 7 Americans, 5 British, 3 Vietnamese, 3 Canadians, 1 Belgian, 1 Indian, and 1 Kazakhstani.

At the same time, the same source continued, two more patients have recovered. They are a 30-year-old Cambodian man returning from Russia and a 42-year-old Kazakhstani woman from Kazakhstan. They have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.

The total number of recovered cases in Cambodia thus rose to 253 or 92.67 percent of the total cases, pointed out the press release.

Since the first case detected in Preah Sihanouk province in late January, the COVID-19 pandemic has so far hit 13 provinces and capital of Cambodia.
