COVID-19: Nine More Patients Cured; No New Positive Case

AKP Phnom Penh, August 16, 2020 —

Nine more cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported to be recovered, according to a press release of the Ministry of Health made public this morning.

The new cured patients are seven Cambodians, a Canadian woman and an American woman. They all have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.

The total number of cured patients thus rose to 238 or 87.18 percent of the total confirmed cases.

Meanwhile, no new case was detected, the tally therefore remains at 273, including 174 Cambodians, 40 French, 17 Chinese, 13 Malaysians, 8 Indonesians, 7 Americans, 5 British, 3 Vietnamese, 3 Canadians, 1 Belgian, 1 Indian, and 1 Kazakhstani.

Since the first case detected in Preah Sihanouk province in late January, the COVID-19 pandemic has so far hit 13 provinces and capital of Cambodia.
