Cambodia-Japan Trade Increases to US$885 million in First Five Months
AKP Phnom Penh, July 23, 2020 —
Trade between Cambodia and Japan reached US$884.9 million from January to May 2020, down 3.8 percent year-on-year.
Statistics from Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) show that during the first five months of this year, Cambodia exported US$703 million worth of products to this northeastern Asian market, a year-on-year decrease of 0.9 percent.
At the same time, Cambodia’s imports from Japan were valued at US$180 million, down 14 percent from the same period last year.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the potential products for export from Cambodia to Japan are clothes, footwear and electronics.
The two-way trade between both nations rose by 13 percent to US$2,292 million last year.
