Centre for Digital and Distance Learning Broken Ground

AKP Phnom Penh, June 23, 2020 —

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is accelerating renovation and improvement of digital and distance-learning centre to further fast-track Cambodia with emerging industry 4.0.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Centre for Digital and Distance Learning renovation took place here in Phnom Penh yesterday under the presidency of H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, and President of Commission for the Centre’s Management.

The establishment of the centre responds to the ministry’s vision not only to promote digital education, but also to develop technology capacity of teachers and professors to lead the process.

H.E. Hang Chuon Naron spoke highly of education officials at all levels, teachers and professors for their efforts in taking part and promoting distance learning and e-learning in Cambodia by far.

Distance learning is a key methodology to transfer knowledge and education of mind, behaviour and talent very quickly and efficiently to students, he emphasised.

The Centre for Digital and Distance Learning is located in Preah Sisowath High School, a well-known public school in Phnom Penh.
