NongHyup to Consider Launching Agricultural Development Pilot Project in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, June 17, 2020 —
Korea National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, known as NongHyup (NH) will consider launching a pilot project for community-based agricultural development in a province of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The update was shared in a press release this morning by the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in the Republic of Korea.
In the meeting with Mr. Lee Seong-hee, new Chairman of NH, H.E. Long Dimanche, Cambodian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea asked the Korean side to provide both short- and long-term skills training as well as to share experience on national cooperative system management and development with Cambodia.
H.E. Long Dimanche and Mr. Lee Seong-he agreed to continue strengthening and expanding the cooperation between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea by using agriculture sector as a bridge.
The National Agricultural Cooperative Federation of Korea, NongHyup (NH) was founded in 1961. It comprises of 1,115 primary member cooperatives representing more than 2.4 million member farmers in Korea.
