Cambodian NA President Satisfied with Cambodia-Timor-Leste Relationship

Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA) has expressed his satisfaction with the good diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Timor-Leste and the cooperation between the two governments.
While receiving a courtesy call from H.E. Ermenegildo “Kupa” Lopes, new Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Cambodia here at the NA Palace this morning, Samdech Heng Samrin encouraged both sides to continue strengthening their cooperation in the areas of tourism, agriculture and human resources for their mutual interests.
Samdech Heng Samrin recalled Cambodian NA’s support for Timorese NA to become an observer of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and will back Timor-Leste to be the 11th member of ASEAN and AIPA.
The Cambodian NA president accepted H.E. Ermenegildo “Kupa” Lopes’ invitation to pay an official visit to Timor-Leste in his convenient time in the future.
For his part, the Timorese ambassador thanked Cambodia for the support for his country and pledged to do his best to further tighten the relations between both nations.
H.E. Ermenegildo “Kupa” Lopes wished to see Cambodian businessmen in Timor-Leste, and spoke highly of Cambodia’s success in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
