Some 1,000 Luxurious Trees Planted to Cheer 70th Anniversary of Cambodia-U.S. Relations
AKP Phnom Penh, April 29, 2020 — Some 1,000 luxurious trees have been planted along the National Road 6A from Phnom Penh’s Chroy Changvar roundabout to the boundary of Kandal province.
The launch of tree plantation ceremony took place here in Phnom Penh early this week under the presidency of H.E. Nuon Pharath, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh and Representative of U.S. Embassy to Cambodia Mr. Michael Newbill.
H.E. Nuon Pharath underlined that the tree planting aims to expand the coverage of green city, not only helping to promote the capital’s beauty, but also reduce the impact of climate change.
The move, he added, is well aligned with the endeavour of the Royal Government as well as the capital hall to achieve green and smart city.
From his end, Mr. Michael Newbill highlighted that the tree planting also means to cheer the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-U.S. diplomatic relations, which will continue to flourish thanks to the commitment of both sides.
