Minister of Education tells youth to increase self-education in the digital age for job opportunities

H.E Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport remind young students to increase their self-study in the digital age to increase their competitive employment opportunities.
In an interview on “Digital Education” on the Ministry of Education’s Facebook page on Sunday April 26, 2020, Minister Hang Chuon Naron stated that young people must be effectively prepared for the labor market in this digital age, it is constantly changing and needs new skills.
Dr Hang Chuon Naron said we have not known how the labor market will change in the next 20-30 years because the technology is developing fast. Therefore youth must have a solid foundation, have a positive attitude, and most importantly, a lifelong education.
The minister also saw that strengthening the knowledge capacity of young people in the digital age also requires strengthening and management in education institutions. All education institutions need to improve their culture and improve their “learning and teaching” environment.
In the interview, H.E Minister also asked teachers and principals to be ready to provide education for young people to become good citizens and to be active, with good skills, good manners, good physical fitness and good health to participate in Socio-economic development in this digital age.
According to the minister in this digital age, the Ministry of Education has put in many educational programs. Particularly, the Ministry is introducing a new curriculum – a new generation school – aimed at improving the education in Cambodia like some countries in the region and the world.
