PM Hun Sen Thanks His Compatriots for Following Government’s Instructions

AKP Phnom Penh, April 15, 2020 —

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has expressed thanks to his compatriots for following the advices of the Royal Government as well as the Ministry of Health in order to prevent the COVID-19 transmission.

“How are you, dear compatriots? Thanks for respecting the Royal Government’s instructions as well as those of the Ministry of Health in contribution to prevent the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our country,” wrote Samdech Techo Hun Sen in a Facebook post this afternoon.

In the same message, the Premier also re-appealed to the Cambodian migrant workers abroad to comply with the laws and regulations, including curfew, group gathering ban imposed by the host countries.

“Your safety and health are the main priority right now,” underlined Samdech Techo Prime Minister.

As of this morning, Cambodia has recorded in total 122 COVID-19 confirmed cases, including 51 Cambodians, 40 French, 13 Malaysians, 5 British, 3 Chinese, 3 Vietnamese, 2 Americans, 2 Indonesians, 2 Canadians, and one Belgian. Of them, 96 have recovered or 78.69 percent of the total confirmed cases.

Since the first case detected in Preah Sihanouk province in late January, the COVID-19 pandemic has now hit 13 provinces and capital of Cambodia.

According to World Health Organisation, globally, as of 2:00am CEST, April 15, 2020, there have been 1,878,489 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 119,044 deaths. Europe has recorded in total 943,272 positive cases, followed by the U.S. 673,361 cases, Western Pacific 124,204 cases, Eastern Mediterranean 106,419 cases, South-East Asia 19,154 cases, and Africa 11,367 cases.
