AKP Phnom Penh, April 15, 2020 —

Commencing April until October 2020, Cambodia’s weather will be dominated by the “neutral” conditions – the transition between warm and cold phases.

The weather forecast was shared yesterday by the Ministry of Water Resources and Methodology, highlighting that the rainy season will come in the middle of May until the second or third week of November.

Levels of rain falls, it added, can be mainly around the annual average, and wind gusts and strong winds are expected – which should be paid attention to, especially by rural households.

The ministerial notification also indicates possible drought period between the second week of July until the end of the month.

Within the aforementioned six-month period, Cambodia expects about 24 to 26 storms from the Pacific Ocean and around 4 to 5 storms from the South China Sea.

This is the second weather forecast of its kind for 2020 and the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology encouraged serious attention from concerned institutions, local authorities and the public on the notification.
