Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has confirmed that there is no penalty for flouting the ban, but pleaded the people to help in preventing the spread of Covid19.
Speaking at a press conference on the morning of April 7, 2020, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said: “We do not have a country lockdown! We do not have curfews because there is no law to impose them. But we beg people not to travel! Stay home and enjoy with your family. We do not have the right to fine anyone. “So please understand, the government needs to have the tool in hand.
Samdach Techo said , we just make laws on managing a nation in the state of emergency and if people do not obey this law, it will subject to penalties, and that scope can be declared nationwide or any part of the country
He added that the fine was not there, but I would like to urge the people to understand as it is for their own safety only.
