The Cambodian Prime Minister announces the suspension of Khmer New Year and allows public and private institutions to continue normal activities

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen announced the suspension of Khmer New Year celebration and required all public and private institutions to work as normal.
Samdech Techo made the remarks at a press conference regarding the current outbreak of COVID-19 on Tuesday in Phnom Penh.
The premier said that the safest place at this moment is in factories, companies and institutions where they are working.
He also ordered the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Council of Ministers, and the Ministry of Labor to immediately convene a meeting to take action on relevant sectors to work as usual.
The Prime Minster also called for the reduction of travel to villages or resorts to avoid the spread of the disease to the city, or to the countryside.
