Proposed Cabinet Reshuffle Approved
AKP Phnom Penh, March 30, 2020 —
National Assembly has approved the proposed cabinet reshuffle aiming to improve the government’s productivity and efficiency.
The approval was made in an extraordinary parliamentary session held here this morning under the chairmanship of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of NA.
Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, was also present at the session.
According to the approved cabinet reshuffle, H.E. Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister, was appointed as Minister of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation, formerly known as Ministry of Industry and Handicraft.
H.E. Keut Rith, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, was promoted to be Minister of Justice in replacement of current Minister H.E. Ang Vong Vathana, who became Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions.
H.E. Chea Vandeth, Chairman of NA’s Commission on Planning, Investment, Agriculture, Rural Development, Environment, and Water Resources was appointed as Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, replacing H.E. Tram Iv Tek, who was promoted as Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions.
H.E. Chhit Sokhon, Secretary of State for the Council of the Ministers became Minister of Cults and Religious Affairs, in replacement of H.E. Him Chhem, who was promoted as Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions.
Lastly, H.E. Pich Bunthin, current Minister of Civil Service became Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and was replaced by H.E. Prum Sokha, the ministry’s Secretary of State.
