Cambodia Detects Five New Cases of COVID-19 Today with Four More Recovered Cases

AKP Phnom Penh, March 25, 2020 –​ Five new cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) were confirmed by the Institute Pasteur Cambodia this evening, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Cambodia to 96.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, the five new cases include two French tourists in Preah Sihanouk province and three Cambodians in Phnom Penh capital, and Kandal and Siem Reap provinces.

Meanwhile, three men, aged 71, 38 and 33 years old, in Phnom Penh capital and a 52-year-old man in Thbong Khmum province were confirmed to have recovered after being tested negative twice consecutively.

The 96 COVID-19 patients include 38 Cambodians, 36 French, 12 Malaysians, 5 British, 2 Americans, one Canadian, one Belgian, one Chinese. Of them, ten have recovered.

Since the first case detected in Preah Sihanouk province in late January, the COVID-19 pandemic has now hit 13 provinces and capital of Cambodia.
