Beer Gardens Ordered to Close Temporarily

AKP Phnom Penh, March 25, 2020 —

Beer Gardens, an outdoor area with beer and food served, have been ordered to close temporarily in a move to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

In an announcement issued on Mar. 25, the Ministry of Tourism asked municipal and provincial governors to temporarily close down the beer gardens in their respective locations from Mar. 25 until further notice.

The ministry stated that the move was made at the order of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Earlier, KTVs, dancing clubs, cinemas and museums across the country have also been ordered to close down to prevent the mass spread of COVID-19.

As of this morning, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 increased to 93.
