Another Case of COVID-19 Confirmed in Cambodia

Cambodia has just confirmed another new case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Minister of Health H.E. Mam Bunheng announced the new confirmed case at a press conference held here at the Ministry of Health this evening.
The new confirmed case was found on a British woman, 65, who left Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Mar. 5 and arrived Phnom Penh on Mar. 7 by Viking Cruise Journey, after sitting next to a Vietnamese national, who was later detected with the deadly virus, on a flight from London to Hanoi.
The new case is now put under quarantine at a hospital in Kampong Cham province where the ship is docking, said H.E. Minister.
The woman is currently in good health, he underlined, adding that other passengers and crewmembers are not allowed to leave the ship and will be all tested.
The Ministry of Health will keep the public updated on Covid-19 on the official websites or Facebook pages of the ministry, or the Department of Communicable Disease Control, he continued.
This is the third case of COVID-19 recorded in Cambodia, after a 38-year-old Cambodian man who is now under quarantine at Siem Reap provincial referral hospital and a 60-year-old Chinese tourist, who has been successfully cured and has returned to his home country.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO), the current outbreak of new coronavirus disease or COVID-19 was first reported from Wuhan, China, on Dec. 31, 2019. Over the weekend, WHO crossed 100,000 reported cases of COVID-19 in 100 countries. Some 80,000 have been reported in China alone, more than 70 percent of which have recovered and been discharged.
