Reported Covid-19 infection Cases in Cambodia Denied
AKP Phnom Penh, March 05, 2020 —
Cambodia’s Ministry of Health today denied the six Covid-19 infection cases in Cambodia reported by Singapore-based media outlet – Chanel News Asia.
It is a fake news, H.E. Ms. Or Vandine, the ministry’s Secretary of State and Spokesperson told AKP.
Cambodia has had no new confirmed case of Covid-19 after a 60-year-old Chinese man was tested positive in late January and was fully recovered a few weeks later in Preah Sihanouk province.
Regarding the Japanese man who departed from Siem Reap province to Japan through Vietnam and was reportedly tested positive for the deadly virus, the ministry is following up the case and conducting more research, she said, adding that the result will be released in a press conference held at the ministry this afternoon.
