Australia provides US$10 million for landmine clearing in the Kingdom

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, H.E Prak Sokhonn, on Tuesday received newly Appointed Australian Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E Pablo Chiho Kang, the Ambassador said the government of Australia has provided US$10 million for landmine clearing in the Kingdom.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that Cambodia will be ready to work with the Ambassador to facilitate his successful diplomatic mission, which means deeper and better relations between Cambodia and Australia.
Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E Koy Kuong told reporters after the meeting that the aid will help the Kingdom to achieve its mine-free goal by 2025.
The Minister profoundly thanked Australia for its assistance to Cambodia, including efforts to find peace for Cambodia.
The Minister also extended condolences to the Australian Government and the people of Australia hit by wildfires.
