Cambodia to Attend 2nd APA Executive Council Meeting and 12th APA Plenary in Turkey

A high-level delegation of Cambodian National Assembly (NA) led by H.E. Nguon Nhel, First NA Vice President and Head of Cambodia-APA Parliamentary Group will attend the 2nd Executive Council Meeting and 12th Plenary of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) to be held in Antalya, Turkey from Dec. 13 to 18, 2019.
According to an announcement of the NA General Secretariat released this morning, themed “The Role of Multilateral Cooperation Among Asian Parliaments”, the 12th APA Plenary will attract senior delegates from the 42 APA parliaments and those from 16 observer countries and 10 partner organisations.
Asian Parliamentary Assembly, formerly known as Association of Asian Parliaments for Peace or AAPP, was founded in 1999. Cambodian NA is also a founder of AAPP. Its main aim is to promote peace and integration in the Asian region through parliamentarian mechanism.
Cambodian NA hosted the 8th APA Plenary in 2015 and the 9th APA Plenary in 2016.
