AKP Phnom Penh, November 21, 2019 —

The World Association of Chefs’ Societies and Cambodia Chef Association have revealed their plan to host a big food tourism event in front of Angkor Wat Temple, which will attract more foreign visitors to Cambodia.

According to the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism’s news release, in a recent meeting with representatives of the two associations, H.E. Minister Thong Khon voiced his full support for the initiative, but he recommended them to ask for authorisation from the Royal Government and APSARA Authority as well as Siem Reap provincial administration.

The Ministry of Tourism will also submit a request to the Royal Government and will discuss with APSARA Authority, Siem Reap provincial administration and the two chef associations over the event’s organisation, he underlined.

The food tourism event is expected to take place in April 2020. A charity activity will also be organised in conjunction with the event to raise funds to help orphans and support other humanitarian work.
