CDC Approves Two Manufacturing Projects Worth Over US$7 Million

AKP Phnom Penh, November 20, 2019 —

Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved two major garment manufacturing projects worth about US$7.6 million.

The update was notified by the council recently, adding that the investments will enable 3,018 jobs for the locals.

The approved investments are SIMAG INDUSTRIAL (CAMBODIA) to establish a bag factory in Kampong Speu province, and GREENFIELD (CAMBODIA) INDUSTRY to build a garment factory in the suburban area of Phnom Penh.

With an investment of US$4.3 million, the former will generate 1,258 jobs, while the latter of US$3.3 million will create 1,760 jobs, continued the update.

According to the government’s record, there are currently over 1,000 manufacturers employing about 2 million Cambodians.
