Cambodian PM: Development and Preservation Go Hand in Hand

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has reaffirmed the importance of both the development and preservation.
Addressing to the inauguration ceremony of a new cement plant in Kampot province this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said according to the Ministry of Planning, in Cambodia there are in total 15.8 million population, and the growth rate is about 400,000 population, therefore the development has to be done intensively, but preservation is also necessary.
“We have set the vision for our development, including roads, houses, schools, pagodas, hospitals, […] but the development also needs to be considered for preservation of historical sites and natural resources,” he underlined.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also took the opportunity to share the Royal Government’s high attention to energy security as well as the concern over electricity shortage next year.
The Prime Minister also said this Saturday, he will preside over the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of 34 roads in Sihanouk-ville, Preah Sihanouk province.
