Germany Pledges to Boost Relations and Cooperation between Cambodia and EU

Germany will help boost relations, friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and the European Union (EU).
The intention was expressed by H.E. Christian Berger, newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Cambodia while presenting credentials to Samdech Vibol Pheakdei Say Chhum, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, here at the Senate Palace yesterday.
H.E. Christian Berger added that during his diplomatic mission in the Kingdom, he will also try his best to further promote relations, traditional friendship and cooperation, especially in the economic sector between the Royal Government of Cambodia and Germany.
The German ambassador lauded fast progress and development in all sectors of Cambodia over the last 20 years, comparing to his visit to Cambodia in 1991.
From his side, Samdech Say Chhum, also the President of Senate, conveyed royal regards from His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, to H.E. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany.
Samdech Say Chhum spoke highly of fruitful relations, friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Germany so far through visit exchange between top leaders and high-ranking officials as well as growing trade volume between both countries.
The Acting Head of State thanked the Federal Government of Germany for its support for the socio-economic development of Cambodia, and hoped that H.E. Christian Berger will continue to enhance bilateral relations and mutual interests of the two countries, mainly in the fields of economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchange to the next level.
