National Assembly to Host Forum on Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control
AKP Phnom Penh, August 22, 2019 —
Commission of Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth Rehabilitation, Labour, Vocational Trainings, and Women’s Affairs of the National Assembly (NA) has scheduled to host a Parliamentary Forum on the body’s role in non-communicable diseases (NCD) prevention and control in the the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As said in yesterday’s press release of the NA General Secretariat, the event on Aug. 26 will be made possible through cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO) Western Pacific Region.
H.E. Nguon Nhel, NA First Vice President, will preside over the opening of the forum at the NA Palace here in Phnom Penh.
The Forum will discuss the latest progress on law enforcement for NCD prevention and control in Cambodia, and future direction to strengthen leadership on NCD prevention and control.
It will also touch on implementation of national multi-sectoral action plan on NDC 2018-2027, and cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia, development partners, and all stakeholders in the achievement of SDG related to NCD in Cambodia.
