Photos of the Week: Cambodian Elephants Being Preserved

These are the elephants at Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Centre located in Bati district of Takeo province. According to Fauna & Flora International, there are about 400 to 600 elephants in Cambodia, most of them are found in the northeastern and southwestern parts of the country. Currently, this largest land mammal is protected and conserved in various protected areas and wildlife sanctuaries, and under different projects such as Mondulkiri Project, Elephant Valley Project, Airavata Cambodia and so on.
