Cambodia’s Milled Rice Export Up 6 Percent in First Quarter
AKP Phnom Penh, April 10, 2019 —
Cambodia exported 170,821 tons of milled rice – a 6 percent increase compared to the same period last year – to international markets in the first three months of 2019.
The update was shared recently in a report from the Secretariat of One Window Service for Rice Export Formality.
Most of the milled rice export was fragrant rice, or 89 percent of the total export, while white long-grain rice and parboiled were 9.14 percent and 1.44 percent, respectively.
By country, the report read, China was the biggest market of Cambodia’s milled rice export during the period.
China imported 75,214 tons of the Kingdom’s milled rice, while France and Gabon imported 20,000 tons and 12,122 tons, respectively.
Last year, Cambodia shipped 630,000 tons of milled rice to foreign markets, added the report.
