Cambodian Agriculture Minister Receives a Delegation of Korea Land and Geospatial Informatics Corporation

A visiting delegation of Korea Land and Geospatial Informatics Corporation led by Dr. Choi Hui Jae, General Manager of Performance Management Department, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Veng Sakhon, Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, at the ministry office yesterday afternoon.


The purpose of the meeting is to report to H.E. Minister on the progress of the preparation of Spatial Information System for Cambodia Agricultural Land Management (SIS-CALM) project to be carried out with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in the near future, said the MAFF in a news release.


According to Dr. Choi Hui Jae, SIS-CALM will help MAFF in land resource and water use management, crop planning, cultivation area mapping, agricultural production output prediction, disaster management, other agricultural development planning, etc.


H.E. Veng Sakhon welcomed the Korea’s proposed project, saying that it responds well to the efforts of MAFF in modernising the agricultural sector in contribution to increasing agricultural productivity, diversification, and commercialisation in line with the strategic policy for agricultural development 2018-2023. He also encouraged relevant departments to collaborate for the success of the project.
