Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival 2019 To Be Held Next Week

The Embassy of Japan, in collaboration with the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC) and the Japan Foundation Asia Centre, is going to organise the 8th Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival from Feb. 21 to 24, 2019 at CJCC, Phnom Penh.

According to the embassy’s press release AKP received this morning, the event will be opened on Feb. 21 with Khmer traditional dance, Japanese traditional and modern performance by MINYO GIRLS and Area Rock Styler, and Lkhon Khol Wat Svay Andet.

Themed this year “Experience Together”, the festival will feature different programmes such as workshops, concerts, martial arts demonstration, traditional shows, trial of traditional wear of “Chong Kben” and “Yukata”, Japanese cultural session for tea ceremony “Sa-do”, folding paper “Origami”, flower arrangement “Ikebana”, and calligraphy “Syo-do”, as well as other various activities.

Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival is organised annually since 2012 for the purpose of presenting the culture of Cambodia and Japan and promoting further exchanges between the people of both countries.

Through the activities, the Embassy of Japan hopes that participants will feel closer to Japan and deepen their understanding of Cambodian and Japanese culture.
