Cambodian Officials To Visit Japan Next Week

Six Cambodian public officers of Ministry of Environment are going to visit Japan from Feb. 11 to 19, 2019 with public officers of other Mekong countries (Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam).
This visit will be made at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under the JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth) 2018, said the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia in a press release this morning.
The participants will visit Ministry of Environment of Japan to understand environmental policy of Japan, and call on Yokkaichi City in Mie Prefecture, where people had suffered from atmospheric pollution in the past to learn the process of improving air purification at Yokkaichi Pollution and Environmental Museum for Future Awareness, it pointed out.
Moreover, they will visit facilities related to environment and technology, and experience Japanese culture, it added.
According to the press release, the JENESYS aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the people of Japan and participating countries and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation. Through the programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has invited more than 2,000 Cambodian youths since 2007.
