Cambodia Deports Some 15,000 Undocumented Migrants

As of 2018, Cambodian competent authorities have deported 15,000 undocumented migrants back to their home countries.

The update was shared by H.E. Gen. Kirth Chantharith, Director General of Immigration General Department of the Ministry of Interior during yesterday’s meeting to ensure legal migrants in Cambodia.

H.E. Gen. Kirth Chantharith underlined that over 30,000 irregular administrative documents have been withdrawn from foreigners of ten nationalities – of them 90 percent are Vietnamese.

The documents confiscated include family books, residential books, IDs, birth certificates, passports and beyond, he added.
