Over 43,000 Construction Projects Approved in Nearly 20 Years
AKP Phnom Penh, December 24, 2018 —
From 2000 to November 2018, Cambodia’s Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has approved 43,136 construction projects on a total land area of 114,297,621 square metres.
The estimated investment capital of the above-said construction project is more than US$43,370 million, according to a report of the ministry released this morning at its annual meeting.
For 2018 alone, there were 2,867 approved construction projects of 11,427,181 square metres with an estimated investment capital of some US$5,229 million, while in the previous year, 3,052 projects of 10,746,219 square metres and US$6,429 million investment capital got licences from the ministry.
Currently, the Kingdom has 1,217 buildings of five floors up, and 235 Boreys (group of residential houses).
Besides, 746 architects (84 women), of them 12 are foreigners, have been accredited between 2014 and 2018.
