The Ministry of Health plans to build four quarantine buildings in the future

Secretary of State for the Ministry of Health, H.E Ms. Youk Sambath, said that the Ministry is currently cooperating with Phnom Penh Capital Hall to plan to build four quarantine buildings on an area of ​​about 1 hectare in ​​Phnom Penh soon.

H.E Ms. Youk Sambath make the remarks when attending the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for the Prevention of COVID-19 on Monday this week at the Ministry of Health.

H.E Ms. Youk Sambath said that the buildings, which will be built soon, will be able to accommodate 800 to 900 patients, including rooms for primary care. She continued to say that there are 5 quarantine centers

, which will be returned to the Ministry of Education at the opening of the upcoming school term. Those site are  Hun Sen Chumpuwant High School, Hun Sen Borey MOuy Roy Khang High School, the Air Force, Phnom Penh Thmey Teacher Training School and Samdech Techo Hun Sen Pochentong Secondary School.

H.E Ms. Youk Sambath further said that Cambodia allowed foreigners from the six previously banned countries to return to Cambodia from May 20, 2020.

As of August 31, 2020, Cambodia has found a total of 274 cases of 19 COVID-19 (54 females and 220 males).
