AKP Phnom Penh, August 19, 2019 –

Cambodian Prime Minister has appreciated the contributions of the European Union to the development of the Kingdom, and looks forward to further cooperation.

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen expressed the appreciation when granting farewell meeting for outgoing European Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. George Edgar at the Peace Palace here in Phnom Penh this morning.

As reported by Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister and a Member of the Supreme National Economic Council H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, the meeting touched on four outstanding EU assistances for Cambodia.

They are the support for fisheries and forestry resources development, climate change adaptation, and Khmer rouge trial.

The contributions have been made in alignment with the top development priorities of the Kingdom, thus serving as an indispensible drive for Cambodia’s progress.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and H.E. George Edgar took the opportunity to exchange mutual appreciation of good cooperation so far between Cambodia and the European Union.

H.E. George Edgar began his work in Cambodia in 2002 as the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Cambodia for three years, and continued staying in the country in the role as EU Ambassador for another four years until now.
