Experiences beyond the Temples for Tourists at Siem Reap
AKP Phnom Penh, October 26, 2018 —
Cambodia is planning a new tourism product called ‘Siem Reap, beyond the Temples’ that will allow visitors to experience beautiful lives and memorable sights further than visiting temples.
The initiative, made possible through the cooperation between Ministry of Tourism and Cambodia Association of Travel Agents (CATA), was shared recently with local media.
As cited in the source, Mr. Ngov Seng Kak, Director of Siem Reap Provincial Department of Tourism is positive that the product in a form of packaged tour will not only attract more visitors to the province, but also promote opportunities and incomes among community people.
More than a half of the total 22 tour agencies have joined the initiative, while the rest will be part of it sooner or later, he added.
‘Siem Reap, beyond the Temples’ will be promoted widely in early November this year.
President of CATA Mrs. Chhay Sivlin was confident that the new tourism product will encourage visitors to stay longer and enjoy broader experiences in the historical province.
Foreign tourists are spending an average of three days in Siem Reap province, according Mrs. Chhay Sivlin.
