Cambodia Makes Another History in Taekwon-do

The Kingdom of Cambodia made another history by winning a silver medal at the 2018 ITF Junior Taekwon-do World Championship held in Belarus.

The silver medal was claimed by Mr. Buon Chantharat, 15, after defeating his competitors for the 45 Kg event from Estonia, Greece, Japan, Argentina, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine, but lost to Russia at the final round.

Cambodia has dispatched seven athletes to take part in the 13th ITF (International Taekwon-do Federation) Junior and 8th Veteran Taekwon-do World Championship held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus, from Aug. 20 to 27, 2018, which attracted over 60 countries.

Besides, for team event, Cambodia got a bronze medal among 13 countries while the world champion went to North Korea and 2nd place to Russia.

Meanwhile, at the in the 18th Asian Games being held in Indonesia from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2, 2018, the Kingdom won two gold medals for Jiu-Jitsu and Ski Modified and a bronze medal for Runabout 1100 Stock.
