PM Hun Sen Thanks His Vietnamese and Thai Counterparts for Their Congratulations on Successful Election

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sent separate letters to his Vietnamese and Thai counterparts, thanking them for their warm congratulations on a resounding victory of the Cambodian People’s Party during the recent election of the 6th Legislature of National Assembly.
About 82 percent of the registered voters casted their ballots which reflects the will of the vast majority of Cambodian people to maintain peace, stability and sustainable development, said the Cambodian Premier.
“Cambodia and Thailand enjoy long-lasting traditional relations. Our bilateral cooperation has been strengthened in all fields from year to year. I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further reinforce and develop the good neighbourliness, traditional friendship and close cooperation between Cambodia and Thailand for the interest of the two peoples, thus contributing to the ASEAN Community and to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world beyond,” wrote Samdech Techo Hun Sen to H.E. Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
In his letter to H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Samdech Techo Prime Minister said, “The Kingdom of Cambodia deeply treasures long-standing relations with the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. We have witnessed a steady growth of cooperation in all dimensions between our two countries underpinning the spirit of ‘Good Neighbourliness, Traditional Friendship, Comprehensive Cooperation, and Long-lasting stability. This encouraging development renders benefits, promotes well-being of our peoples and further contributes to stability and prosperity of ASEAN family.”
He is also looking forward to meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart at the 27th World Economic Forum on ASEAN 2018 in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.
